I felt the exact same way. It was worth the money, and the musicians that crafted the track were nothing but humble and polite when I talked with them. I'm looking forward to hearing more from them.

I think you described the song and bandcamp perfectly. I'll have to check out more of the Japanese music scene.

I remember Nada Surf from the 90s. Based on this song they seemed to have wandered into the shoegazer genre, while keeping a toe-hold in traditional song structures. I can dig it.

Sounds like a good cause, and pretty cheap for the track. I really like that bandcamp site — it seems a good way for indie artists to connect with their audience. A lot of the Japanese bands I like to listen to are on the site, finally offering me a way to buy their music.

I like the song, it has a pretty mellow, intricate sound.

I have seen Guitar. I went to 5 nights of the 21 Nights at the Forum. I think I have about 15 gb of Prince music, and over 50 concerts in.

I am in no way dismissing Prince's work after the 80s. Prince is still huge and still making great music, though I believe that his lyrical direction has faltered. I'd see him in a heartbeat the next time he comes around to the tri-state area.
I would also agree that he is on par with other musical greats, and is overlooked, but I still stand with this being my favorite piece and one of his best songs from when he was on the more mainstream charts. When I introduce people to new music, I usually try to introduce them to something they may already be familiar with first, then show them some of the more hidden gems.

Have you ever seen Prince perform the song "Guitar" live? That's definitely one of the best live videos from Prince I've seen in awhile. I'll tweet you the video I came across when I get home from work.

PS - you are correct about his solo with Tom Petty.
